Found a Yank!

Hey, guns have very little going for them other than range. Granted, if you just want to punch lots of holes in things, that counts for a lot.

With sufficient upper body strength, a sword--as crude as it is--can be a more controlled weapon. And that's the point. Light sabers are ridiculous--ridiculed in universe in fact--and insanely difficult to master, but a more elegant weapon. The weapon of a highly skilled knight, not a common foot soldier.

Range is really all that matters when you can kill someone from 100 yards away, and they have to get within 1 yard.

Light sabres work in-universe because the Jedi have space magic (and in the Walking Dead where noise draws more zombies and general trauma doesn't stop zombies), but otherwise wielding a sword when you could use a gun is utterly daft. You English supposedly learned the insurmountable superiority of ranged weaponry at Agincourt, but I suppose history books and reading aren't for everyone, tut tut.

Welp, have fun being killed by that Common Foot Soldier before you can even close with him, oh Highly Skilled Knight.
