Well, to me (in my logic of the fantasy) the object of my desire and their partner could still naturally break up (without me having anything to do with it). I mean, relationships fail, marriages end in divorce all the time. Kids, however, kids you can't "break up" with.

So it's not so much about intruding as "it's not necessarily permanent".
