Ugh, yes, this is true. This happened to me a lot - I regularly go back (at least to the shorter stories) and look over them and correct things that seem off because I'm tired of getting another correction comment on a years old cleaned up kink meme fill.
Goes for art as well - I recently posted a picture that had a very old sketch/lines and which I found again and threw some colour on because even though it was old, I still kind of liked it. Wrote about three times in the commentary that it was old and because I'm a traditional artist and the lines were already done, I couldn't have changed anything about them anymore.

Cue several well-meaning and also rude concrits on the anatomy (nothing about the colouring, though). Eh.
