As a player of ~competitive games~:

Of course people who don't play competitive games are bad at them. In most competitive games, you need to practice to be good. If you never play them, of course you'll be bad at them.

I suspect OP believes that people fail to pay competitive games because they are bad at them, rather than that people are bad at the games they don't practice at.

Because there is no possible reason to not like a style of gameplay except for being bad at it.
