It seems to be a potential waste of time. If they are the type of author who takes good concrit gracefully, they've probably improved a lot since five years back. Though for me it's never too late to catch an easily fixed inaccuracy or typo.

I would, and I have. But I also re-read my own fics, so if I notice something wrong on my own, I can't let it be.
