I think the fandom view is that it's bad to leave concrit on a fic that's even one day old. I've heard that so many times - concrit is for beta only. After it's posted, it's rude to concrit.

I don't see what difference five years makes to that kind of view.

(I disagree with that view, by the way. As long as the reviewer doesn't expect the writer to change anything, concrit should be welcome always unless you state otherwise.)

It would be very nice if writers would put a disclaimer somewhere stating what kind of comments they're comfortable with, but this nearly never happens. As a consequence, I no longer leave concrit on posted fics unless invited to specifically.

Honestly, people who have that opinion on concrit are probably too sensitive to accept it at any time, because that's pretty silly.

Well, the writer(s) said they would accept concrit during beta only, so I suppose they accepted concrit sometimes.

I actually did beta for one of these writers about a year later, and she was great to work with. She even took on most of my suggestions. It was just once she'd posted the fic, she no longer welcomed concrit. I wish she had put some sort of disclaimer on her profile or on the stories regarding this, as I did find it odd for her to be so angry in response to concrit with no sort of warning.

I no longer offer concrit, but I do more betas these days, so it kind of evens out on my side.
