Unless they're bashing gay people, I don't see how it's problematic.

It reminds me of het fans who say it's sexist to break up a canonical het couple for a slash ship -- what utter bullshit.

Unless someone is saying or doing something homophobic or sexist, you have no right to call them bigoted over what they ship.
