As a gay person who ships Kurt/Rachel, I agree. There's far weirder crap in fandom and it's not like I ever wanted the ship to actually be canon. Some people just take fandom way too seriously

Yeah. The 'shipping for social justice' crowd springs to mind. You ship people because they have chemistry or because they look good together, not because they tick some demographic boxes or earn points for tumblr approval.
