I kinda just wish they could be more creative with the miscommunications. Like an entire plot is launched because a jackhammer was going off and she couldn't hear him so she did ___ which leads to a whole string of events and then there's a huge ridiculous ending.

As opposed to "I kept it a secret from you because the show needed a plot I guess".

Like, not only is that a serious warning sign of communication issues in the relationship, but hello extreme paranoid jealously.

Video Girl Ai, man. Fucking Video Girl Ai. Over and over, Youta falls in love with girl A and tries to do right by her, and then girl B gets into a situation where she desperately needs someone to help her. Youta decides he can't just abandon girl B, so girl A assumes he really loves girl B instead--and the manga keeps treating this like it's an entirely rational assumption! I got the feeling the reason he ended up with Ai was that she was the one he had to save most, so she was the one least likely to wig out and assume he was cheating on her.

At first I thought you were talking about AI Love You, I got somewhat confused.

...Japan has a lot of AI rom com manga.

Point of curiosity: is AI Love You any good? I liked Chobits, but I wasn't much for Ah My Goddess.

TBH, I read it a long time ago, so I'd have to read it again to recommend it or not. I really did like Ken Akamatsu's other series Negima! though, so... yeah.
