I'm more or less ambivalent toward Christmas. Some years are more stressful than others but for the most part it is pleasant. The one exception to that are family get-together's. I hate seeing my extended family. Mostly because every year since I left HS it gradually got worse and worse. I learned of how catty and snobby they were and it got worse after my parents got a divorce since my mother was the one who interacted with them the most. Now I can't stand them. The only reason why I still go is to keep my poor, old grandfather company because otherwise he'd be by himself while my dad spends his christmas with his girlfriend. His brother is a trip and never shows up anyway, but they all like to gossip about us and so I end up having to say hello to people whose names I can't remember that continuously sneer at me. The only ones who are nice to me now are the elderly uncles and aunts. In fact, I may just skip this year altogether. It is the one thing that ruins Christmas for me in a big way.
