On tumblr, it's easy to hit "reblog" and everyone will know who created the art because it's auto-linked. You have to go to extra effort to save the art, reupload and post it so that the art goes uncredited (implying that it's yours). You may have to photoshop some watermarks off too.

Which means you're going to extra effort to be a douche and a thief. It's not a whoopsie, my hand slipped kind of mistake.

Exactly this.

Tumblr, ironically, makes it easier to keep the original attribution from the artist than it does to repost the work.

Of course the main reason people repost is because they want to see the notes accumulate on their dashboard, not on the artist's.
