I don't get the ones that are actual concrit, like "Oh, the characterisation was weak here" or something on an ancient fic. On a newly posted fic it makes sense, because the author's still writing with the potential for improvement. But 5 years is a long time in fandom! If the author's not active or has left fandom altogether, then well, they're probably not going to come back and fix their character's OOCness, so...
