It might be "bad" (for Westerners) because tastes drive the direction of the market. China's position becomes better and better and drives more and more manufacturing practices exclusive to China. Other countries lose money because they cannot sell to Chinese tastes. A lack of money creates a lack of options. That's the worst case scenario.

But it would be interesting and vindicating to see China become a paragon of quality after decades of "Made in China" being a stigma. Just like how "Made in Japan" redeemed itself.
