(Anonymous) 2014-12-05 07:27 am (UTC)(link)I think that people who make money (illegally) off other's intellectual property have absolutely ZERO right to complain if someone reposts their work without credit.
Otherwise they're whiny, hypocritical little bitches.
Whatever problems fan fiction has, at least the authors have a leg to stand on since THEY aren't earning anything off their work. Whereas a huge number of fan artists are.
So spare me your tears.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-05 08:42 am (UTC)(link)So you can't find their pages to actually credit them, but you psychically just darn well know they're making money off it?
Try harder, asswipe.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-05 09:34 am (UTC)(link)You have ZERO rights to the fan art you are creating. You are STEALING someone else's ideas, regardless of whether or not you sell it. Fanfiction writers, at least, put a disclaimer. But if the original artist has a problem with it, they definitely have the right to legally go after fan fiction writers and fan artists.
I do not feel beholden to respect the wishes of someone who is breaking the law in regards to another's intellectual property. I'm sorry, but I simply think it's far too hypocritical to get upset that people are using your art in a way you haven't authorized when that is EXACTLY what fan artists themselves do to the original creators. And, what's worse, some of them directly profit off this.
If you're not hypocritical, then I have no problem with you. But if you're acting like a whiny hypocritical little asswipe bitch, I'm gonna treat you like a whiny hypocritical little asswipe bitch. Capiche?

(Anonymous) 2014-12-05 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)So? How do you know these specific artists whose work you wanted to capitalize on were trying to make money? Or isn't the money the issue for you now, it's the OMGETHICS!!!
Because as soon as you're challenged your argument changes, which kind of makes you the hypocrite here.
Or do you think that just because a select few try making money off fanart it's also fine to treat like shit the vast majority who don't?
