So lemme get this straight... you want the glory for 'discovering' this treasure trove of art via a simple Google search -- i.e. the same level of "hard work" that's involved in scratching your ass -- and you think people telling you that's a shitty thing to do when the artists themselves who actually did the hard work you'd be benefiting from get ZERO credit is "the whiniest bullshit"?

Yeah. Fuck you.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-05 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
lol

Go right ahead.

I think that people who make money (illegally) off other's intellectual property have absolutely ZERO right to complain if someone reposts their work without credit.

Otherwise they're whiny, hypocritical little bitches.

Whatever problems fan fiction has, at least the authors have a leg to stand on since THEY aren't earning anything off their work. Whereas a huge number of fan artists are.

So spare me your tears.

"But trying to tease out the artists when all the pages are in Chinese/Japanese? Good fucking luck."

So you can't find their pages to actually credit them, but you psychically just darn well know they're making money off it?

Try harder, asswipe.

Here's a thought:

You have ZERO rights to the fan art you are creating. You are STEALING someone else's ideas, regardless of whether or not you sell it. Fanfiction writers, at least, put a disclaimer. But if the original artist has a problem with it, they definitely have the right to legally go after fan fiction writers and fan artists.

I do not feel beholden to respect the wishes of someone who is breaking the law in regards to another's intellectual property. I'm sorry, but I simply think it's far too hypocritical to get upset that people are using your art in a way you haven't authorized when that is EXACTLY what fan artists themselves do to the original creators. And, what's worse, some of them directly profit off this.

If you're not hypocritical, then I have no problem with you. But if you're acting like a whiny hypocritical little asswipe bitch, I'm gonna treat you like a whiny hypocritical little asswipe bitch. Capiche?

are you in middle school or do you just sound like it?

(Anonymous) 2014-12-05 12:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Well considering you busted out the personal insults, I'd say you're the expert here in middle school behavior so you tell me.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-05 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Says the person who came into this thread calling artists YOU ALREADY ADMITTED YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW because it's sooooooo hard to find them, whiny fucking babies and hypocritcial bitches.

Don't dish it out if you can't take it.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-06 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Ah yes, because stating my opinion on behavior I find to be hypocritical and immature without targeting a single person directly is totally the same as insulting someone I'm having a conversation with because I don't agree with their opinion. Glad you cleared that up.

Nice way to not answer the question at all.

So? How do you know these specific artists whose work you wanted to capitalize on were trying to make money? Or isn't the money the issue for you now, it's the OMGETHICS!!!

Because as soon as you're challenged your argument changes, which kind of makes you the hypocrite here.

Or do you think that just because a select few try making money off fanart it's also fine to treat like shit the vast majority who don't?
