There's an episode of Criminal Minds that is pretty much the perfect example of Mainpain.

Random Girl: "I think there's a serial killer in the area!"
Rossi: "Away with you, girly. I am very busy and important."
Random Girl: *is killed by serial killer*
Rossi: "WHY? WHY ME? Had I only listened I would not be WRACKED with GUILT and PAIN and SUFFERING! Oh why did I make such a bad decision that led to pain for me?"
Girl's Parents: "Why do you keep bothering us?"
Rossi: I need you to know exactly how much pain I'm in and how guilty I feel!

That episode was super bad, and the only thing I can really remember about it is thinking that the serial killer and his girlfriend were both really, really cute
