I think the problem is more the difference between genuine concrit and a flame.

Some people are not very good at expressing themselves, and their remarks come across as condescending or rude when it was not their intention - or for older stories, they simply have no framework for the world at the time the story was written: before the Internet, before the availability of video and DVDs that made re-watching and fact finding so much easier.

Other people are just trolls to be ignored.

Occasionally I've had a kudos, reviews or concrit for a very old story and I've re-read the story out of curiosity. Invariably, I end up fixing old mistakes or even improving on the story for the pleasure of the next person who stumbles across it.

I leave up my old stories as many of them are for loved and sometimes obscure fandoms, and still enjoyed by a small number of readers.
