Dean Winchester is the King Of Manpain, complete with the Single Manly Tear. John tells him he might have to kill Sam, it's all about how Dean feels terrible, with no thought to how Sam felt about knowing that his father thought he was a monster and his brother might murder him. Sam goes nuts from hallucinations and lack of sleep, it's all about how Dean feels terrible, etc.
