I'm going to try cooking bacon in the oven for the first time tomorrow. other than that nothing much. I'll probably sleep in between BLTs.

It's surprisingly easy, and so much faster when you want to make a large batch of bacon vs. just a few strips.

I usually microwave it, but that can be hit and miss when it comes to burning. I've heard a lot of good things about oven bacon, so I'm very willing to try it.

Bacon that is baked in the oven is so much more amazing than frying it.

If that is wrong, I don't want to be right.

I've never liked fired bacon, like a told Anon above I usually use the microwave, but it sounds like the oven gives better results.

If you have a thin metal cooling rack (like for cakes) that fits inside the sheet pan you're using, put the bacon on that. It will drain better and get crispier on both sides. If you're having problems with your bacon curling up, consider putting another sheet pan on top, with a weight of some kind.

All the cooling racks I have are rather tall for that. I have heard somewhat crinkled aluminum foil also helps with drawing grease away from the bacon, so I'm going to try that.

Should help. If you have heavy-duty aluminium foil, acordian-pleat it and unfold, it will hold its shape decently. This is very unlikely to work with standard aluminium foil though.
