Re: What's up with everyone on tumblr thinking they have depression
(Anonymous) 2014-12-06 05:16 am (UTC)(link)Not only is the end of puberty causing all sorts of chaos on their body and mood, they're also dealing with the huge shift from being a kid to being an adult. For many of them, they're going from having virtually no responsibility beyond 'put the dishes in the dishwasher and do your homework every day' to 'balance college with a part-time job, hobbies, and trying to figure out just who the fuck you are as a person now that the world looks at you as a grown-up'. Obviously some people manage all that while remaining happy as a clam, but just speaking from personal experience all of my friends dealt with a lot of depression for much of high school and into their twenties.
It's not that they were snowflakes. It's that shit's tough to deal with.
