And why Moffat and not Gattis. Mysterious. IRL Moffat is nice, anyway, regardless of his plots, plotholes and Doctor's Wife. Some people on my flist liked all three, btw.

He's the showrunner, he carries the can for doing things differently from RTD.

He carries the can because he's been showrunner for so long now, we've seen his every trick and failing multiple times.

I can't even hate him. I'm just tired of him. I'm ready for him to leave and let somebody else come in and show us all their tricks and failings until we're sick of them, too. (Pretty much what happened with RTD, as well.)

Plus, he IS the showrunner. He's the one who designs the arcs and has final say on what appears on our TV screens. It's his overall vision we're getting, so people hold him responsible for the show.
