Ugh, I'm so sick and tired of this attitude in fandom where everything has to be "OMG SUCH A TRASHHEAP FUCKHEAD I HATE YOU I HATE THIS SHITTY PILE OF TRASH LULZ I'M SO IRONIC BECAUSE I ACTUALLY LOVE IT BUT UGH RUINING MY LIFE THERE UGU" if you want to fit in with the general tone. And I refuse to do that.

I hated that in real life about being a teenager.

"Oh shut up." And I was supposed to somehow figure out they were being 'ironic' and weren't just being rude to me and/or they were too embarrassed about showing real enthusiasm for anything in case anyone thought they weren't cool?

Tumblr is full of that crap. "I hate X it's ruining my life!" Although actually, LiveJournal was full of it as well, in the comments to some of the comms.

It's not being cool or ironic. It's just a pathetic defense mechanism.
