Right, but... I DID have my sexual awakening as puberty started to hit. That's, like, half the point of puberty, isn't it? Start getting horny and discover your fun bits? Does anyone actually put off fantasizing and masturbating until their late teens or early 20s? If so, did you have a lot more time to study in high school than I did?

Reality and Fiction seldom make good bedfellows. Look, most romance readers are in their mid -thirties and older. Do you think they feel comfortable reading about 11-13 year olds fumbling around in the oh-so embarrassing way that inexperienced and stupid kids do, or do you think it they feel better reading about a virile and strangely experienced "naturally" sexy 20 year old who can fully (or at least approaching fully) understand and enjoy the sexual experience? Reality just cannot compare to that.

I'd rather they just skip the "sexual awakening" and start with someone older, whenever the character started experimenting.

Well, if we're looking at what women like, the "older and experienced" part only goes for whoever takes the role of the man.

For me, I really didn't start being interested in sex until my late 20's. I mean, I'd masturbated practically all my life (yes, before puberty, as in, I don't remember a time when I didn't), and my fantasizing during puberty was more about marriage and children than sex itself.

And.. yes? Apparently? Went into college with a full semester of credit already covered by my AP courses. Studying >>>>>> Sex for me at that point in my life.

Then again, I already know I'm a weirdo. :P
