My first thought was Dewshine and Tyldak, actually. Who Recognized each other, but didn't particularly like each other, and after they did their genetic duty and conceived a child, pretty much avoided any future contact. That always struck me as pretty discomforting as a kid, and did a good job of taking the romance out of Recognition.
