Maybe I'm missing something about the film here, but... you feel sorry for the real Anastasia but not the other children? And since when has there ever been a reason to torture and violently murder people for their crimes instead of putting them to fair trial and punishing them through the law?

Please go back under your bridge.

I think you're misreading ayrt. She is saying murdering people isn't justified, even if Anastasia HAD been involved in her "family's politics" - her not being involved shouldn't factor in, no "politics" would justify doing what they did to the Romanov family.

Yep, that's exactly what I meant. Thanks, nonny.

OP

I do feel sorry for the other children, but they don't have the same mythology built up around them. Which isn't to say that they shouldn't have lived, just that it's harder for me to "but what if" about their lives, had they not ended.

Does that make sense?

As for the rest of your comment, no, there isn't a reason to torture and violently murder people. However, if Anastasia had been involved in the politics that actively harmed other people, I could have understood why even as I severely disapproved of the actions actually being undertaken.
