Sad how many young radical baby communists on tumblr say the kids deserved to die because they were royalty.

How I wish there was a goon squad that could track down such....privileged little shits and give them a taste of what it meant to live in truly trying times, in truly trying areas of the world.

No one deserved what those kids got but it's especially heinous, from what I've read about how the Romanovs raised their kids, because the Romanov kids lived such austere lives, much more than probably a lot of the royal houses at the time. The Communists may have even approved, if they weren't too busy butchering them for being born royal.

They no more deserved to die for being royalty than peasant children died for just being born peasant children. However, that was the world that they were all born to. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

Okay, I may have thought Nicholas was a horrible ruler and that the film (as much as I love it) painted a too much sympathetic picture of the family (about how everything was great under the Romanovs), I would never have condoned the killing of the children.

Young radical baby communists have been saying that for decades. It's only the "on tumblr" that's new. I grew out of it, they will too.
