I agree. Although, I don't tend to like anything that sappy.

The thing about It's A Wonderful Life is that it's a fucking brutally cynical, dark movie up until the ending, which is literally a completely bullshit magical resolution. It's an odd thing to become a holiday classic in some ways.

(the same is basically true of Mr Smith Goes To Washington, btw)

The movie with angels and God has a magical, happy ending? WHATTTTTT?

AYRT - Exactly, it's so brutally cynical that it's very hard to get to the happy ending.

Which is why I love both of them.
