Well, you can always comfort yourself with the knowledge that you aren't the first to be put on the spot like you described and it's pretty much happened to everyone on the planet at one time or another, so really, suck it up, OP. If everyone was treated like special little snowflakes the way I see some of the posters on this site insist on being treated lest you break under the strain of experiencing the harsh realities of life, we'd get NOWHERE as a people or a country.

You sound like a real joy.

They do, don't they.

I'll take them over the ones who think the world should cater to their incompetence.

lol. Not wanting to be humiliated is not singlehandedly holding back humanity.

as a people or a country.

Which country, anon?

ETA: didn't realize this show was specifically about law school. That makes a big difference.

TBH, it's good for people to come to grips with their own ignorance and to learn to tolerate looking stupid sometimes. You won't die of humiliation, but trying to avoid it at all costs will definitely set your education a long way back. And the kind of ego that can't stand to be wrong or humiliated, or stews about it forever as if everybody cares, is disastrous. So yes, if our educators all embraced the idea that learning must be a feel-good experience where nobody looks or feels stupid even for a couple of minutes, the long-run result would be less courage and less creativity.

But what about my special feelings?

That's fair.

I guess there's a middle ground between "never being put on the spot" and "Severus Snape".

I'd say that it's important to learn that being humiliated is not some calamity.

Self righteousness is the cornerstone of epic failure in getting anywhere in life. And it's a sorry case you got there.
