TBH, it's good for people to come to grips with their own ignorance and to learn to tolerate looking stupid sometimes. You won't die of humiliation, but trying to avoid it at all costs will definitely set your education a long way back. And the kind of ego that can't stand to be wrong or humiliated, or stews about it forever as if everybody cares, is disastrous. So yes, if our educators all embraced the idea that learning must be a feel-good experience where nobody looks or feels stupid even for a couple of minutes, the long-run result would be less courage and less creativity.

I'd say that it's important to learn that being humiliated is not some calamity.
