I really can't go more than 3 days without washing my hair. It starts to get oily and really uncomfortably itchy. My hair is also really thick, though less frizzy than it used to be - but I usually wear it up in a braid, so.

Your hair sounds basically like my hair - I have to wash it every 3 days, not because it's unbearably greasy but because my scalp gets too itchy.

Exactly! The strands themselves don't get greasy at all; it's all on my scalp.

And before anyone says it's because I don't brush my hair: I know. My hair is ridiculously thick and difficult to brush. I only comb it (with a wide-tooth comb) when it's wet.
