Okay, it's everywhere. So? No one is FORCING you to read it. And if you see a fic tagged with it then it's freaking obvious that that's what the fic is going to be about. Plus people never forget to tag juggernaut pairings (considering it's a great source of hits).

It just sounds like entitlement -- you aren't OWED fic by anyone, so why are you complaining? Any fic that you do find is a bonus.

I've shipped both juggernaut pairings and non-juggernaut pairings and quite honestly I just don't understand why people get up in arms about other people liking and enjoying something they don't like.

All I ever want to say is "get over yourself" because people aren't required to cater to you.

I have to say, I agree. I ship Stucky, so everything is awesome for me there, but on the DCCWverse, we all know the juggernaut there is Olicity, and I don't ship that, like at all.

But beside some annoying Oliciters that equate their ship with Laurel bashing, I don't have to subject myself to that, If it is not your cup of tea, just move along; no one is forcing you.

In fairness, I get being frustrated if the shippers bash characters you like or act like you MUST ship the pairing or you're homophobic/racist/sexist/transphobic etc.. Or if they keep DEMANDING that their pairing be made canon (because that's entitlement in and of itself).

But I just see so many people complaining about the mere volume of fanfic and I'm like…okay? So what?

Frankly both in Juggernaut and non-Juggernaut ships I really managed to avoid character-bashes. I keep hearing this is a problem, but I rarely actually experienced it.

I haven't seen character bashing fics since the mid 2000s, tbh. I've seen negative or uncharitable portrayals of characters, but those usually seem to be out of disinterest or carelessness rather than genuine malice, as was the case in the past.

Plus people never forget to tag juggernaut pairings (considering it's a great source of hits).

Actually, I've read a fair number of Avengers fics that contained untagged Clint/Coulson (which happens to be one of my NOtps). That may just be the exception that proves the rule, though, since I can't think of a single other regularly untagged juggernaut pairing.

It happens with Stony too. I think it's just the assumption that "well EVERYBODY sees it" so it's easy to plug in as a background pairing. *shrugs*

Yeah, same with intersex and/or mpreg Loki - people think that because it's apparently a popular thing "everyone" likes, they don't have to tag it anymore because it's practically accepted fanon.

I've always seen intersex and/or mpreg Loki very well tagged, but it is very popular. I think most of the fics I've read recently with Loki in them had him like this. It's almost weird now when he isn't.

Agreed. I don't like Destiel. So I avoid it. I don't go on Twitter and call Destiel fans the ''ebola'' of the fandom.

I don't see the harm in voicing frustration tbh. As long as you aren't jumping people for liking it or whatever or demanding people write fic or whatever, I don't get the big deal. Sometimes it helps to vent a little.

I just don't see why the shippers get attacked so often. (Even in this secret the Stucky shippers are referred to as annoying for…some reason…I guess?)

And when people start lamenting how little fic of their preferred pairing there is in comparison, that does kind of seem entitled to me. (It's basically saying "Hey fandom! Write less of *juggernaut pairing* and more of MY pairing. Because it doesn't matter what you like -- you should be catering to ME). I especially get that impression when the shippers are insulted.

But you do have a fair point on venting, I'll give you that.

See, I don't really see the big deal about that, especially if they're just venting and not actually bothering anyone to creat fic or fanart for them. Honestly, I can't fault anyone for complaining if they're doing it on their own blog or whatever and not attacking anyone. Fandom can be frustrating sometimes, so people vent.

I never read fanfic, but as an outsider I can absolutely see why it'd be frustrating when you have maybe 10 things to read, while the juggernaut has 1000+. I fail to see how that's really entitled. You just sound kind of defensive, tbh.

I think this is a tumblr thing, tbh. Nowadays I don't use tumblr at all except to follow some texts from last night parody blogs and a couple other specific things like that, so I never get overexposed to stuff -- I only get overexposed to overexposed people complaining about how overexposed a thing is. But I do remember from my brief foray into regular tumblr fandom how unbelievably difficult it was to avoid overexposed things. Even with blacklists, etc. It just kind of seeps into all the cracks no matter what.

As someone who ships a lot of extreme rarepairs, I actually agree. I know too well the frustration of having nothing to read while juggernaut pairings get a smorgasbord, but I'm not entitled to having a smorgasbord of my own, and I don't want to give people the impression that I feel entitled.

I mean, if I pressed a button tomorrow that made everyone stop shipping Stony or Stucky or Sterek or whatever, they wouldn't move on to writing about my pairing of choice. Irritating as it might seem to me, they aren't doing anything wrong just by producing fanworks. So I try to keep my complaints to things juggernaut shippers do that is genuinely rude and obnoxious––like putting their novel length fic in the rarepair tag because they mention rarepair once in it.

Agreed. I really don't care at all for Supernatural but a lot of my friends love it, and even then it's not hard for me to just scroll past the posts they make to talk about it.

I don't get the complaints either, there are plenty of juggernaut ships that I don't care for and I avoid them easily by not going into their side of fandom or not being in the fandom at all. Even on tumblr, which is a bit more of a mish-mash with it's tagging system, I rarely see the ships I'm not into(either by blacklisting the ship or just not following a blog that primarily posts it).

If anything I'm far more likely to see anti-posts about 'how dare anyone ship this thing' and tbh they are far more irritating and pervasive. Especially when I initially follow a blog for a particular pairing, not to see someone whine about others not shipping it.

I'm not talking about fic in particular and I lean towards mainstream Stony. Seems like you do a great deal of projecting here and also a light case of capslocking. If you're not talking about me though, carry on.
And wait till you have pairing that annoys you pop up everywhere.

Steve/Bucky/Darcy definitely exists and there's quite a but of stuff on AO3. It's my new OT3! XD

I'll bitch about juggernaut pairings all I damn well please.

Tumblr's not the best when people don't tag (And I'm not going to hide my friends sometimes, even though they love something I dislike). Destiel and Johnlock got REALLY damn old, as did Harry/Draco back in my LJ HP days. There are worse ships than Stucky -- I do prefer best friend ships, but don't personally dig Stucky -- but when you literally cannot avoid the juggernaut pairing, sometimes you can't just hide it and move on.

Then maybe the fandom's not for you?

This is coming from someone who stopped caring about Madoka fandom because I didn't ship either of the juggernauts.

Being annoyed at juggernaut pairings doesn't mean I don't like the source material, so I'm not actually sure why that's relevant. Loud, annoying fans are 95% of the problem.
