it feels like people are more concerned about them being able to write about trans characters than actually getting it right

Most of the people in this thread don't even seem like they write about trans characters. They're just annoyed with the "every cis person does this" tone of the secret.

yeah, i doubt most people here had plans to, but considering that cis people do screw up a ton when writing trans people and it's writing fanfic where 99.9% of the characters are canonically cis in the first place, i'm a little surprised at the outrage.

and I didn't see a lot of comments from people who wanted to write about trans characters, just from people commenting on the hatred in the secret
