I find that if any fic needs author's notes -explaining- the story, it's A) terrible, B) written for attention, C) trying to show off omghowmuchtimeandresearch the writer put into it, D) some combination of the above. Why else would they -bother- with notes? Even if it's metaphor, then it's your metaphor, you get it, who cares (and besides, not explaining lets other people make their own conclusions)? And then if they go claim "I wrote it for fun" I'm like uhhhh yeah right. Unless you write textbooks for fun. >>"
I wonder if people actually write novels like that. And if they do, I wonder who the hell reads them. *DIES*
