I will admit to being one of the people who's not happy about this, but I don't think my reaction can be right or wrong. I just have an aversion to Cumberbatch because of my hate for BBC's Sherlock and he's not the type I'd prefer to see in the role (though I do like his voice so I'm fine with him as Smaug). I'm not saying it's going to be terrible, but I'm disappointed and I'll still be disappointed even if he puts in a good performance. I just find the idea of proving this sort of reaction wrong to be odd.
