Oh, come on. No one is oppressing this artists when it comes to doing a Christmas album. They do it because it's an almost guaranteed money maker. Like you mentioned Streisand. Her album, fittingly enough "A Christmas Album" sold over five million copies. It's one of her best selling albums to date. And in a time where people are downloading songs left and right, Christmas albums are still being bought legally. It's a great way for an artist or a band to recoup any bad selling albums they might have had in the previous year or two.
