(Anonymous) 2014-12-18 01:57 am (UTC)(link)hell, even if they weren't cis I think it would still be pretty important to them. infected dicks aren't a fun time for anyone
Re: Dear person who cut their dick open:
Yeah, that guy needed to see a doctor but, you know, it takes gangrene a *wee* bit longer to set in....

Re: Dear person who cut their dick open:
A lot of the people in the comments seemed to think he'd have an infection and die overnight, though. That's another thing about F!S medical threads - the person asking *knows* they need to see a doctor, the people reply tend to overreact and posit the *worst possible outcome/diagnosis ever* no matter what.
As a child of two medical professionals, it's kind of amusing to see all the shrieking and flailing on both sides.
Re: Dear person who cut their dick open:
Every time something is even the slightest bit off, I automatically assume that I have the worst diagnosis I could possibly get and that I'm going to die. Living like this for a few years, I've learned that nine times out of ten, I'm probably not going to die and it's probably not going to be as bad as I worried it would be. I've also learned to never go to the Internet about any medical problems, because if you didn't think you'd die before, you would afterwards.
Re: Dear person who cut their dick open:
I just...grew up with people who didn't react much to blood and illness. You just - dealt and moved on and not much would actually kill you, so - you're fine. Have a jigger of brandy and honey and go to bed. Heh.
Re: Dear person who cut their dick open:
(Anonymous) 2014-12-18 06:13 am (UTC)(link)I guess it's because my mom asked me to feel something that she'd found in the shower a couple of days before and the next thing you know, I was feeling a lump on her breast. She died three agonizing years later.
So, you know, sometimes it's as bad as you first think.
Re: Dear person who cut their dick open:
I'm so sorry about your mother, that's just not fair.
Re: Dear person who cut their dick open:
(Anonymous) 2014-12-18 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)Yup, saw the doctor the next day.
Doc recommended antiseptic cream (which I was already using) and said to keep an eye on it and put no unnecessary pressure on it. It was already pretty much invisible by the next day. He agreed it was very probably down to abrasions cause by earlier condition.
hasn't bled since, and is almost totally healed now. Scary shit, and it freaked my girlfriend the fuck out.
Re: Dear person who cut their dick open:
Anyway, I'm glad it worked out all right and that your dick's fine. Take it easy for a few days; it sounds like some scary shit, and I do not envy you.
Re: Dear person who cut their dick open:
(Anonymous) 2014-12-18 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)and no, my first reaction was to go to the hospital. when I found out that that would lead to nothing but a 20 hour wait, my next reaction was to go home and go to sleep. Thing about having your vein penis pop open is it makes it hard to sleep. that's about the point F!S came to mind.
I am indeed taking it easy. Nothing too... stimulating, not self abuse, etc. At this point I'm sort of "Do I really want to avoid bleeding out? I mean, if I can't fap then why even live?
Any who, thanks for checking up on me. Very nice of you.
