Anytime they say something that's clearly because of censors or because times change or whatever. The most egregious example is Maleficent and her "death-like sleep" but the way the boys on SPN talk (when I think they would legitimately say fuck, shit, etc. in very un-PC terms) can be cringe-worthy sometimes. Some stuff for kids from before 2000 is hardcore now because of how timid they seem now and just how many things are inappropriate now. Never bothered me when I was a kid. I don't think they give kids enough credit.

When I read your first sentence, I immediately thought of SPN. It is made even more annoying because of that one Ghostfacers episode where they bleep out a bunch of cuss words!

Also, because fanfic has them cussing a lottttt.

I really don't get that "think of the children" attitude. Some stuff simply isn't for kids and if you let your child watch some adult show anyway, you should probably be more worried about violence than a bad word.
