Britcoms

Blackadder, Yes Minister, Father Ted*, Red Dwarf, etc.

*Irish, not British, I know, but it seems to fit the genre.

Love Blackadder but I didn't get the season 4 ending. I've heard they decided on in the last minute. Your YM pairing? Thoughts on YM remake? I didn't see it because, well, it wouldn't be the same as original. Father Ted is too yucky for me. I also like The Thin Blue Line. It has a girl who likes slash which is great for that time.

Blackadder - you didn't get it, as in you watched it and didn't understand? Or you haven't seen it?

YM - It's the only fandom I read Gen in, though I love all the various tensions. What's your pairing? IA, the remake just couldn't stand up.

Father Ted is too... yucky??

Thin Blue Line had someone who liked slash in it? I haven't seen it in years but loved it when I was a teen.

- I watched it but didn't like it. It seemed too drawn out to me and too serious for a comedy series.

- I've read a few Humphry-Minister fics, because I like this relationship dynamic. YM is not particularly shippy, though.

- The earwax jokes... It's a well regarded show though.

- The female police person ('police person' is a joke in the show). She talked about comics characters being obviously in love with each other. I think it's very progressive for the 80's.

BA: Fair enough, to each their own. Given that it was a show about WWI, I thought it was well done and a nice touch to acknowledge the seriousness of the source material.

YM: Yeah, I agree. Have you ever found any good Humphrey/Hacker fics? I'd be curious to give them a try.

Father Ted: ...but, that was one episode...?

Thin Blue Line: It was a '90's comedy show.

BA: Anyway, I love this show. I have a thick Blackadder script book. I'll read it some day. For now it just looks nice on my bookshelf.

YM: All the fic I've read were on the LJ community. I didn't save the links unfortunately.

Father Ted: It was the first one I've watched. Buuut, I'll give it a try if it's a one time thing. xD

Thin Blue Line: Oh, it's 95. I thought it was older. You know, on rewatching I didn't like some themes, but you'we watched it some time ago, so nevermind.

Are You Being Served is another britcome that comes to mind, btw.

I've confused Red Dwarf and Blake's 7, so I was, like, it's not a sitcom, why is it here. xD

You confused Red Dwarf and Blake's 7? Now I just think you're trolling me.

lol, I'm not that devious. I was introduced to both by the same person, so they're intertwined forever in my mind.

Well with the comments about the other shows too, it did seem like a subtle trolling. ;)

Sorry. :D Eng. is not my native tongue, maybe that's why. I'm just happy to meet someone who likes all these shows. They're pure gold.

Oh man, then it's me who's apologising. Sorry for being an unintentional douchebag there.

They're definitely gold. Blackadder in particular. :D Have you seen all of YM? I kinda ship Hacker's wife and Bernard.

All but YPM series two. Hacker's wife is great, I love that character. And Bernard too, of course. I'll watch for this pairing the next time I see this series. It sounds interesting.
