A few years ago, I snooped on a private mod forum at a board I went to, because a glitch had given me access. A bunch of my friends had said really hurtful things about me.

Case in point, I used to IM with one of them. I thought we were friends. You know what he said? Something like "I always cringe when she's on IM." That just... crushed me. And another person said I hated the site and was trying to stir trouble, even though I'd actually been trying to apologize for a friend stirring shit.

It just... ruins otherwise happy memories about that place, because I wonder how many people really just hated my guts. :( Fortunately I do know I had some actual friends there.

I am so sorry that happened. That sounds horrible and I don't blame you at all. I know that would get me and mess me up a lot.

AYRT - What made it worse is that when I told a friend there how upset I was and I was taking a hiatus, she got mad at me. For some reason I remained friends with her for a few years after that.

It was one of those things where I feel like most of the members were actually nice and genuine, but the system itself was... f*cked up.

On the plus side, someone I never would have expected stood up for me. :)
