The way anime characters ~pause dramatically~ before saying someone's name at the end of a sentence in which they address said character. It happens even when the name isn't significant to what they're saying! I don't get it!

Yeah and I just end up laughing at fight scenes where one character gets a hit landed on them and it takes a pause to show each character looking on in horror and they each call their name.. "____-KUN!!" and then "____" if they call them by something different.

All the name callling.

Hm. Is it a cultural thing? I am unsure what the weight names carry in Japan. Then again, maybe 1-2 popular anime did it, and now every one must do it!
