If you have pay-wall access: what countries did the respondents come from? Certain fantasies might not say a lot about individual character, but they might have something to say about a particular culture.

It was an internet survey, so participants presumably only needed to understand English in order to contribute.

Participants being able to understand English cuts out some places; likelihood of internet access cuts out others; and the survey's distribution would cut out still others. I'm also betting they probably had a "where are you from" question in there somewhere; demographics are pretty important when it comes to this kind of research.

I dunno. I just think there's mitigating factors when it comes to fantasies and preferences, and that culture is probably one of those factors. I'd be interested in seeing a study that specifically compares fantasies between countries/across cultures.
