we haven't decorated it completely yet - it just has the lights and star.

...Christmas is a week from tomorrow. We've NEVER waited so long to decorate it before! But I assume it's because my brother won't be home until Friday and we're waiting on him.

no, the living room has a vaulted ceiling. it's my parents' place technically, I mean I do sort of still think of it as "my house" but I'm moving out next month.
