LOL! That would make it super weird, I agree.

Best secret. Everyone else can go home.

But seriously, I love this secret so much.

I always kinda shipped Merlin/Mad Madam Mim.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-24 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Fun Fact: The German title of the film is "The Witch and the Sorcerer", and it was originally called "Merlin und Mim".

With Arthur and the sword on the cover and all.

Well...that'll ruin it.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-24 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
Don't worry OP, I had trouble watching the show at first because my brain was refusing to accept young Merlin and Arthur over Sword in the Stone Merlin and Arthur.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-24 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Oh damn, no more Merlin/Arthur fic for me! Thanks for sharing your pain anon :P

Who's the accurate one here, age-wise? BBC Merlin or the animation?

(Anonymous) 2014-12-24 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Not the BBC.

Since Merlin traditionally ages backwards...

(Anonymous) 2014-12-24 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
I did not know that. But doesn't that mean they'd meet in the middle, about in their late 30s?

I have never known this

In all my life, I have never heard this

That is...weird. What about when he was born? That must have been hella painful for his mom.

Depends on the version of the myth, but in the Monmouth version at least Merlin was involved in Arthur's birth (disguised Uther as Igraine's husband so he could sleep with her by deceit, begetting Arthur), so I think the point here goes to Disney.

This is also how Morgan Le Fay is Arthur's half-sister. She was the daughter of Igraine and her first husband, who died in battle the same night Uther was sleeping with his wife.

Thanks, Merlin.

This was one of the big stinks when BBC Merlin first aired, that both Arthur and Merlin were the same age, and usually Merlin is shown much older.

I'm surprised this needs to be a secret. It was widely discussed in the media at the time, about how much the "reimagining" had changed, and everyone giving their opinions on it.

Gotta keep it real here: I find the thought of this way hotter than the fuggos from BBC Merlin.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-24 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
But... it would be pederasty. Icky. D:

i wouldn't mind it either way, to be honest.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-25 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
This is why BBC Merlin shippers are sick faggos who deserve to be euthanized.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-25 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
It's spelled "faggot" you ignoramus
