Sometimes, Creator-Owned works can be better than stuff from the Big Two (and IDW, which is 95% licensed works).

... And then there's shit like this (and John Byrne's Next Men from the early 90's) that turns me off from creator-owned, because some of the shit they come up with, man... *shudders*

It's supposed to be over-the-top horrific. Yes, he's gonna go there. A lot of writers would. Gail Simone, the most genuinely socially just and woman friendly writer of comics, the woman who started her career by tackling sexist violence in comics head on, goes to horrific places all the time and I LOVE IT.

Mark himself said that he was going to make Batman into the Joker. You knew what you were getting into when you read that. If not, then consider yourself lucky. You're not gonna die just because you read something nasty.

This is not even over-the-top horrific and nasty, it's juvenile, ridiculous and badly written. Someone magically booby-trapped someone's uterus so it would collapse on itself if she aborted a fetus created with her brother's sperm. It's the kind of bullshit teenage boys write when they're trying to seem EDGY and DEEP.

Lol dude, it's not OTT horrific. It's OTT ridiculous. That is one of the dumbest fucking plot lines I think I've ever read. Dark places are fine, but shit like that's so overwrought it stops being dark and just becomes facepalmy and laughable.
