Wait, what? What has happened?

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
The Sony leaks happened. Marvel said that keeping Garf was a deal breaker for them, because he's too old for the role as part of a continuing franchise expected to last a decade or more (instead of how Sony sees it, as being a role that gets rebooted after every trilogy). When the leaks went public all the MCU fans, and a large chunk of Spider-fans too TBH, kinda, sorta, pretty much agreed that Garf oughta go. With the Sony leaks having given the chance of a Spider-man/Avengers team up new momentum (thanks be to those hackers, who were not from North Korea no matter what the media tries to claim) it looks like he is probably going to be out of the role. The best he can hope for is his contract is 3 movies, pay or play, and Disney just pays him off.

You don't know where the hackers were from any more than the media does

I know that every firm involved in Internet Security knows they weren't from NK. I don't need to know where they are from, but the smart money is either China or US homeland, but I know where they are not from. This was done for the lulz, not as part of any cyberwarfare shit.

NAYRT, but North Korea's internet connection comes through China, so if you're pointing the finger at China, it doesn't conclusively mean that it was NOT North Korea.

most signs point to a disgruntled Sony employee or former employee, actually.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
You're leaving out the main part where he turned into an unprofessional actor blatantly blowing off his franchise's promoters.

He ended up being a bad choice, so he's getting replaced.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
He should be replaced. They booted Edward Norton, they should get rid of this guy too. Tumblr's only Stanning for him because he wants Bi!Spidey.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 11:46 am (UTC)(link)
Actually I've seen more tumblr hate for him for the sexism thing.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
AYRT

Man those Sony leaks seem to be far bigger than what I originally thought when I heard of them.

Thanks for taking the time to clue me in.

Basically if it was on Sony's internal network, then it is now in the public domain. Everything. Scripts, emails, contract negotiations, staff pay grades, staff disciplinary records, every-fucking-thing Sony ever committed to cursor. People will still be digging through the documents and finding new stuff in them this time 2015.

The leak thing being attributed to NK about that stupid movie of theirs has been a godsend for Sony. Really taken the heat off all the really juicy stuff.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-27 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Basically ala Winter Soldier, only replace SHIELD's secrets being online for Sony's.
