Re: It's becuase people find lesbians less threatening than male gays.

I actually have to agree with nyxelestia on her point. I feel like there's a fear that if the main male characters are outed as gay, it'll chase off the male fans of the show who are afraid of being seen as gay. (Star Trek is a perfect example of this. They had two "gay" f/f couples, but I doubt the franchise would have ever attempted making any of its male characters engage in a homosexual relationship.)
