Urghh, those books are horrible. You have to be very careful with "how to draw anime" books. Some are good, some are crap peddling something that looks like cheap anime knockoff, and some are legit terrifying, and only really good if you want to scare yourself.

I know a handful of decent books.

Mastering Manga With Mark Crilley is pretty good

Also the Shojo Fashion Manga Art School series is surprisingly awesome.

Mark Crilley author of the Akiko Books wrote two books on manga.

"Mastering Manga" & "Mastering Manga 2 Level Up with Mark Crilley"

He also has two manga inspired series out. "Miki Falls" 4 books & "Brody's Ghost" 6 books (He just finished book 6 so the last book in that series should be available soon.

He also does How to Draw Videos on Youtube.

Ah cool. The books aren't things I'm interested in, it's just a weird nostalgic desire not to see a creator I like make crap. These don't sound too bad, for how to draw books.

Though looking up those titles DID lead me to this winner.
