I love season 3/4. Because they're so blatantly written for the show's true demographic, little girls. It pisses off the adult male audience so much. I remember at the end of season four, guys said they 'started crying' when they had rainbow powers. So much gnashing of teeth about the show being "so girly".

Oh, you mean the show about magically talking colored ponies is actually a show aimed at young girls and not a show about sexualized magically talking colored ponies who do all those manly man things you like to do, like play shooters and drink mountain dew? Heaven forbid!

I think the first two seasons were definitely written to appeal to little girls though
