This. If you're trying to sell something that's widely offered for free, then it better come with skils or a service you're just not going to get in any of the dozens of 'find a beta' venues. Bearing in mind that the majority of fanfic writers aren't in a position to pay for things like this in the first place, it doesn't seem especially lucrative.

While it's admirable that OP's friend is trying to offer something for the cash, you suspect they'd be better off just explaining their situation and asking for donations. Like OP, there are probably people who'd gladly donate but for various reasons don't want anything they're offering to sell.
