Favorite Lines from The Princess Bride

(Anonymous) 2014-12-28 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I just re-watched The Princess Bride again last night. I can't begin to pick my favorite lines from it, so anyone else want to pick out some of *their* favorite lines instead?

My name is Inigo Montoya; you killed my father, prepare to die.

YOU RAPED HER, YOU KILLED HER, YOU MURDERED HER CHILDREN

"The healthy human mind doesn't wake up in the morning thinking this is its last day on Earth. But I think that's a luxury, not a curse. To know you're close to the end is a kind of freedom. Good time to take...inventory. Out-gunned. Outnumbered. Out of our minds. On a suicide mission. But the sand and the rocks here, stained with thousands of years of warfare... They will remember us. For this. Because out of all our vast array of nightmares, this is the one we choose for ourselves. We go forward like a breath exhaled from the Earth. With vigor in our hearts and one goal in sight: We. Will. Rescue Buttercup."

"The King’s stinking son fired me. And thank you so much for bringing up such a painful subject. While you’re at it, why don’t you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it? We’re closed."

I'll post one of my favorites between the Grandson and the Grandfather.
"See, didn't I tell you she'd never marry that rotten Humperdinck?"
"Yes, you're very smart. Shut up."

And I am counting that movie as a Christmas movie due to the stocking and the Santa decoration in the Grandson's room and if you notice out the windows the houses across the street have Christmas lights on it. If people count Die Hard as a Christmas Movie I'm counting The Princess Bride as one as well.

I never even thought of this. You, sir or madam, are a genius.

I am now making this part of my Xmas tradition.

Thanks after viewing it several times I decided to look at the way his room was decorated and see outside the house.
