I wish people realized that you can be honest and kind at the same time. And with younger more sensitive artists/writers being kind and tactful will get them to listen to you more than mocking them will.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-30 12:30 am (UTC)(link)I'm actually not bothered by people who mock others' artwork and make no pretense about being fair or nice, but when someone's hypocritical about it, it's a pretty good warning sign not to trust them too much.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-30 12:32 am (UTC)(link)And when the artist is just casual. If you want to take your art seriously, then laborious practice is great and the best way to improve. But if someone just wants to doodle fanart on some scratch paper when they have some free time, that's fine too.

Some 14 year old kid doing a self insert comic? Jesus they're learning they're not meant to be 'good' let them practice :(
